Week #1 Monday: Duty of Care – a video introduction
Welcome to this GMA course on Security Management for Country Directors.
We start with the vital topic of Duty of Care. It’s a foundation topic for the course because it lays out why we ‘do’ security management. In essence, we want to make sure that we can run programs in challenging locations and, at the same time, keep our staff safe and well. Making these judgement calls is one of the key roles of a Country Director. Duty of Care is often seen as a legal obligation, but there are also other non-legal reasons why we focus on staff welfare.
