Crucial Safety Statement on Health, Safety, and Welfare

This document sets out Crucial Safety’s approach to Health, Safety and Welfare. If you are reading a non-English version of this document please be aware that the original version is in English and any questions about meanings will refer back to the English language version. It is the policy of Crucial Safety to establish, provide and maintain working and training conditions that are as safe and healthy as reasonably possible, and conform to appropriate safe systems of work in locations in which we operate. When working for clients in their own chosen locations Crucial Safety will discuss the client’s own working locations and conditions and whether they are as safe and healthy as reasonably possible, and whether they conform to appropriate safe systems of work. It is essential to bear in mind that, due to the sector in which Crucial Safety operates, there can never be a 100% guarantee of freedom from harm – for example whilst carrying out a security consultancy in Democratic Republic of Congo security risk can be sensibly and professionally managed according to good practice, but not entirely eliminated.

Crucial Safety will provide information, instruction, training and supervision for all associates and contractors so that their work activities minimise potential harm to themselves, their colleagues, clients, contractors, visitors or members of the public. Crucial Safety will provide information and instruction to trainees prior to taking part in trainings, in particular in respect of trainees taking part in security trainings that involve realistic simulations who may have suffered past psychological trauma.

Crucial Safety will take reasonable and practicable steps to ensure the safe selection, use, maintenance, repair or replacement of the company’s vehicles and equipment.

Associates, contractors and clients must take reasonable care of themselves and any other people who may be affected by their actions and comply with safety rules and practice at work. They must also carry out any necessary duty that the law requires and cooperate with Crucial Safety to allow our legal obligations to be met. Any equipment or otherwise provided for health and safety purposes must be used properly and not misused. Where necessary, specific guidance will be given concerning the use of individual pieces of equipment.

Crucial Safety will consult with our associates and contractors when reviewing  this health, safety, and welfare policy and subsequent procedures. Their contribution is recognised as important in achieving a safe and healthy work environment.
