You will learn

The course has a fixed start date and you will work through the course with a group of other like-minded individuals. The course content is delivered daily via live webinar, videos, podcasts, reading assignments, knowledge checks, and interactive projects. You will  be assigned to a group, and you will meet weekly and discuss with your peers. By doing this you  both deepen your contact with others who manage security and have the chance to share ideas and insights on different practical ways to ‘do’ security management.

The training is led by Ian Woodmansey, the founder of Crucial Safety. Ian has worked in the humanitarian and development space since the mid-1990s, and has worked for the UN, ICRC, MSF-Holland, Save the Children, Oxfam and RedR UK (as Global Security Manager and Lead Security Trainer). For the past decade he has been a security trainer and consultant with clients ranging from Mercy Corps to Tearfund to GIZ.

If you are in, or soon to be in, a field posting and you haven’t yet received security management training, join us for the next course. You can take it wherever you are based. Sign up today to make sure you have the skills to manage security well.
