Learn and retain more

with online learning

Collaboration, feedback, discussion and a high standard of teaching are what make Crucial Safety’s online trainings a super-effective way for you to learn, retain, and apply new knowledge and skills. As part of all of our online courses we use innovative techniques – such as ‘spaced’ learning, where we revisit topics several times in different ways – to overcome the ‘Forgetting Curve’ and ensure you retain a high degree of what you learn in the training. Our spaced learning approach means that we stay with you for many weeks after the end of your training to ensure your learning has consolidated.

This proven approach ensures that you both absorb and retain information better. When you’re engaged in learning like this you will massively increase your ability to apply your new understanding and knowledge.

Join the growing band of aid workers who are building their skills and knowledge with us online – take a course to get a taste of what we do.

“Students in online conditions performed better, on average, than those learning the same material through traditional face-to-face instruction”

How we teach online

Everyone learns in their own way, so we structure our courses to meet different needs and ensure rigour.

Our mini-courses use various teaching techniques including guided reading, video instruction, audio podcasts, knowledge checks, and self-assessed assignments that reflect real-life security and crisis management tasks.

Our multi-week courses include all of the above, as well as email access to your course leader and regular contact with your fellow learners through weekly guided discussion groups. You will also have access to live tutor-led webinars. And because teaching others is one of the most effective learning techniques, you will have the opportunity to give and receive constructive feedback on end-of-week assignments. In this way, you build your knowledge and skills.
